Open Channel Surf, choose Get Started, then go to plex.tv/link on your phone or computer and enter the code on screen (or scan the QR code). Pick how many channels you want and you’re watching.
No Plex server? Choose Try Sample Channels on the sign-in screen to surf a small lineup of classic and open-licensed films.
Common questions
Can I pause or skip? No, on purpose. It’s live TV: change the channel instead.
Something I just added isn’t on any channel. New additions stay off the channels for a while so they’re yours to watch on purpose. Change this in Settings → Hold Back New Additions.
Too many or too few channels? Settings → Lineup Size, or turn off individual channels in Settings → Channel Lineup.
A program won’t play. Make sure your Plex Media Server is on and reachable. If videos stutter, try a lower Video Quality in Settings.
Subtitles don’t appear. Turn them on in Settings → Subtitles. The video needs a subtitle track in Plex.
I bought Channel Surf on another Apple TV. Settings → Restore Purchase.

Channel Surf is free for 3 days. After that it’s a one-time purchase to keep using it, not a subscription. Purchases are handled by Apple; for refunds, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
