Privacy Policy
Download as PDFChannel Surf turns your Plex library into channels you can flip through. It’s built to know as little about you as possible.
What we collect
Nothing. Channel Surf has no accounts of its own, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We don’t run servers that receive information from the app.
What stays on your Apple TV
- Your Plex sign-in. When you sign in at plex.tv/link, Plex gives the app a token, which is kept in your Apple TV’s keychain.
- Your library and schedules. The app saves a copy of your library’s titles and your channel schedules on the Apple TV so it opens quickly.
- Your settings, such as lineup size and hidden channels.
Signing out removes your sign-in, library copy and schedules. Your settings stay until you delete the app.
Who the app talks to
- Plex (plex.tv) to sign you in and find your servers, and your own Plex Media Server to read your library and play video. Plex’s handling of that data is covered by the Plex privacy policy.
- Apple’s App Store for the free trial and purchase. Apple processes payments; we never see your payment details.
Changing your subtitle choice
When subtitles are on, the app tells your Plex server which subtitle track to use for a video. That choice is saved on your server, the same way Plex’s own apps save it.
Children
Channel Surf doesn’t collect information from anyone, including children.
